It is my understanding that the assignments to these two judges is for the discovery phase only.
Once on the trial calendar, the case can be assigned to any judge for the trial.

Is the plan to have these two Judges also schedule and try their assigned med mal cases? Or just to limit the IAS assignment for discovery matters to Judges that are more familiar with malpractice cases?
I have a case that was assigned to Judge Fischer for pretrial matters that was just reassigned to Judge McGrath, but it is still on the DCM Trial part calendar with a conference on for next week.

One of our Attorneys was in Nassau Supreme today before Judge McGrath. His law clerk told her that within the next few weeks, all medical/dental malpractice cases will be re-allocated between Judge McGrath and Judge Daly-Sapraicone.
As for Judge Sapraicone, her husband is somehow involved with South Nassau/ Mount Sinai, so she is going to recuse herself on all of those cases
